OscarPool is an entertainment platform that allows users to create, join, and participate in prediction pools for the Academy Awards ceremony (the "Oscars"). Participants predict winners across various award categories and compete for points on a leaderboard.
OscarPool is strictly for entertainment purposes only. No real money gambling, wagering, or any other form of real monetary exchange occurs on this platform. Any "buy-in" amounts are denominated in fictional, in-app token currency with no real-world cash value.
You must create an account to access certain features of the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in abusive behavior.

OscarPool is an independent, fan-made prediction game. It is not produced, endorsed, licensed, approved, or sponsored by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences or any of its affiliates. No affiliation with or endorsement by A.M.P.A.S. should be implied or inferred from use of this Service.
The name "OscarPool" is used for nominative descriptive purposes only — to identify the Academy Awards ceremony that users are making predictions about. Such use does not constitute a claim of trademark ownership, sponsor relationship, or any other form of association with A.M.P.A.S.
All other trademarks, service marks, and trade names referenced within this Service (including but not limited to film studio names, distributor names, and motion picture titles) are the property of their respective owners.
OscarPool is a social entertainment product. It does not facilitate, encourage, or enable real-money gambling in any jurisdiction. Any points, tokens, or leaderboard standings have no monetary value and cannot be redeemed for cash or prizes unless explicitly advertised and legally compliant promotional offers are made available.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of OscarPool complies with the laws and regulations of your jurisdiction. If online prediction and contest activities are restricted in your jurisdiction, please do not use the Service.
Our Service relies on third-party infrastructure including Google Firebase for authentication, database, and hosting. Your use of the Service is also subject to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for the practices of these third-party providers.
The Service may display information about movies and nominees sourced from public databases. We make no warranty regarding the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of such third-party content.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION.
We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements, be available at any particular time, be secure, or that any errors will be corrected. Results and scores are based on official Academy Awards announcements; we accept no liability for delays in result updates.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OSCARPOOL AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US (IF ANY) IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS (USD $100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless OscarPool and its operators from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual property right.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with applicable Canadian arbitration rules, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
